Construction of 1-Bit Transmit Signal Vectors for Downlink MU-MISO Systems: QAM constellations

چکیده

In this paper, we investigate the construction of a transmit signal for downlink multiuser multiple-input single-output (MU-MISO) systems under cost-effective 1-bit digital-to-analog converters (DACs). Due to coarse nonliner property, conventional precoding methods, developed infinite-resolution DACs, could not yield an attractive performance having severe error-floor. Finding optimal signal, moreover, is computationally implausible due its combinatorial nature. This challenging problem has been partially solved in our earlier work focusing on phase-shift-keying constellations. Our major contribution extend it into more practical quadrature-amplitude-modulation constellations non-trivial way. We first derive so-called feasibility condition guarantee that every user's noiseless received belongs desired decision region, and then transform as linear constraints. Taking robustness additive noise account, proposed method formulated mixed integer programming problem. construct efficient algorithm solve (equivalently, generate signal). Via simulation results, demonstrate superiority with respect computational complexity detection performance.

Reconsidering Linear Transmit Signal Processing in 1-Bit Quantized Multi-User MISO Systems

In this contribution, we investigate a coarsely quantized Multi-User (MU)-Multiple Input Single Output (MISO) downlink communication system, where we assume 1-Bit Digitalto-Analog Converters (DACs) at the Base Station (BS) antennas. First, we analyze the achievable sum rate lower-bound using the Bussgang decomposition. In the presence of the non-linear quantization, our analysis indicates the p...

On Bit-interleaved Coded Modulation with QAM Constellations

Bit-interleaved coded modulation (BICM) is a flexible modulation/coding scheme which allows the designer to choose a modulation constellation independently of the coding rate. This is because the output of the channel encoder and the input to the modulator are separated by a bit-level interleaver. In order to increase spectral efficiency, BICM can be combined with high-order modulation schemes ...

QAM transmission through a companding channel-signal constellations and detection

The effect of the companding process on QAM signals has been under investigation for the past several years. The compander, included in the PCM telephone network to improve voice performance, has an unusual affect on digital QAM data signals which are transmitted over the same channel. The quantization noise, generated by the companding process which is multiplicative (and asymmetric), degrades...

Robust Downlink Beamforming for Multiuser MISO SWIPT Systems ⋆

In this paper, we studies robust downlink beamforming for a multiuser multiple-input single-output (MISO) simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) system when only imperfect knowledge of the channel state information (CSI) is available at the transmitter. Specifically, we exploit two different models to describe CSI errors: a) deterministic bounded and b) stochastic random. ...

Transmission Strategies for MISO Downlink MC-CDMA Mobile Systems

This paper proposes two space-frequency schemes with a multi-user pre-filtering technique for downlink (DL) multicarrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) systems. We consider the use of antenna arrays at the base station (BS) and a single antenna at the mobile terminal (MT) and derive the proposed multi-user pre-filtering technique that modulates the transmitted signal to eliminate the e...
